BORN FRANCE, 1988
A French interior architect, furniture designer and artist based in California, Coulibeuf creates bespoke, biomorphic furniture and functional art for residential spaces. With a largely intuitive approach, and inspired by personal experiences, memories, and nature, Coulibeuf’s process begins with sculpting in clay rather than sketching in pen, giving volume to his ideas and a uniquely kinetic feeling to his designs. While his elegant and lush aesthetic vocabulary is constantly evolving, Coulibeuf is unwavering in his commitment to detail and exploration of the limits of natural materials, uncovering surprising yet simple lines, textures, and balances. With exquisite craftsmanship, he works primarily with bronze and often experiments other fine materials like straw marquetry, Murano glass and brass
Prior to founding his eponymous studio in Los Angeles, Coulibeuf was the furniture and lighting designer at Charles Burnand Gallery in London. He studied landscape design at the Institut Lemonnier and interior architecture at the Institut Design & De L’image in Rennes, France
